The Problem

Every data-driven initiative started with friction — weeks of waiting to access data, no visibility into request status, and no clear process connecting producers and consumers. Teams adapted by creating shortcuts: duplicating data, building parallel pipelines, or making decisions without reliable inputs. The limitation wasn't technical — it was systemic friction across the entire data access journey.

"Data access stopped being a bottleneck. It became an enabler."

The Approach

We redesigned the data access journey, simplifying request and approval flows and removing unnecessary friction at every step. The core insight wasn't about technology — it was about ownership. By redefining accountability, we enabled faster and more reliable decisions. We introduced data contracts to ensure quality and stability in data consumption, and rethought the entire data catalog experience, building an internal data marketplace that made discovery and consumption easier for every team. More than optimizing a process, we built a scalable foundation — where data access stopped being a bottleneck and became an enabler.

Key Learning

"Ambiguity doesn't scale — systems do. The real breakthrough came from turning decisions into a reliable system, with clear ownership and shared context."
